Finally a system that successfully works with alternative media. Use bark, Leca, moss, or anything that can hold moisture. The Flood and Drain system will fully saturate it.

When your plants reach the top of your pole, simply add more chambers or bring the most mature section down to the bottom for continued growth and maturity.
A Planter Worth Sharing
The base planter serves a dual purpose: it supports the modular pole as well as functions as an 8" self-watering planter. With several versatile features, it can be configured to flood and drain, skip watering when watering the mod pole, or have water flow through with the mod pole cycle. After a complete cycle, all water will make it's way back to the base reservoir that can then be pumped or poured back into the mod pole or planter.
*For semi-hydroponic growers, it includes an option to use an inverted water bottle to maintain a consistent 1-2" water level.
